The VDU is a generic 10 meter / 30 ft depth housing for camcorders with or without an eye-piece viewfinder.
The VDU is manufactured from double laminated PVC and has an optical glass port. It is rated to 10 meters underwater. It has been specially made for the Canon HR10 and Canon VIXIA HR10 camcorders, but it will also fit other camcorder of similar size and shape.
Perfect for snorkeling or shallow diving, sandy, dusty, humid or foul weather conditions this housing will give your camera the best possible protection whilst being fully operable.
Even the touch screen will work with thw camera in the housing. The touch screen monitor can be operated from ourside while the camera is fitted inside the underwater housing.
It has a wrist strap with a handy quick release clip to ensure it is always ready to use in and under water. But also to ensure that it is always safely connected to the operator and camera man. A pair of non-corrosive and seawater resistant clamping rails which fit together for perfect sealing. They tighten by means of knurled thumb screw knobs.
Designed specifically for small, "consumer" style, modern digital camcorders, with or without view finder, the ewa-marine VDU underwater housing is manufactured from our special, double laminated PVC and has an integrated, optically neutral flat glass as a front port. With this housing you will receive a set of adapters that fit the filter threads of the most popular lenses on the market today. By means of this adapter the camera is then docked into the housings front port, ensuring that the lens remains parallel and centered behind the front of the lens. Just as if it were a clear, neutral optical filter.
To fixate the right hand near the power button and zoom switch, the housing has an adjustable wrist strap to position your fingers near the power and zoom switches. The strap comes with a hands quick release clip to easy handling once out ot the water
It has a pair of non-corrosive and seawater resistant clamping rails which fit together for perfect sealing.They tighten by means of three screw knobs. There is also the practical, adjustable carry strap on the clamping rail.

Actually, it's not in a box at all. We sell this unit in a handy, yellow, nylon carry bag. This bag is ideal to store and transport your ewa-marine housing, it also helps reduce unnecessary packaging-waste and as such is part of our amain to help the environment.
